Florence Main Street Façade Improvement Grant Program
The Main Street Façade Improvement Grant Program is open to all commercial and non-profit property owners and tenants within the Main Street district. Eligible projects include exterior building improvements such as painting, awnings, doors, etc. applied to a front, side or rear façade provided it faces a public street or parking area.
Grants are available for up to $1,000.00 of the total cost of an improvement project and must be matched (50/50) by the applicant. This is a reimbursable grant program, grant funds will be dispersed upon completion of the project and submission of receipts to the Main Street Program.

Arizona State Parks Historic Preservation Heritage Fund

Bi-annually, Arizona Heritage Fund awards matching grants to private non-profit organizations, Indian tribes, state and local governments for historic preservation projects. Grant awards are limited to $150,000.00 per project and the participant must match at least 40% of the grant.
Activities eligible for funding include acquisition of property, education and preservation program development, interpretive development, purchase of preservation easements, building condition assessment reports, National Register Nomination preparation, rehabilitation, restoration, stabilization, and protection. www.azstateparks.com
State of Arizona Property Tax Reclassification Program for Historic Properties - Commercial Component
The State of Arizona Property Tax Reclassification Program for Historic Properties (Commercial Component) is available to owners of historic commercial, income producing properties. The program reduces the amount of state property taxes paid by the property owner each year. The temporary property tax reclassification is set by the county assessor and does not necessarily change the base assessment. Modifications made to the property to restore or rehabilitate it are assessed at a reduced rate (one percent of the full cash value) for property tax purposes.
Properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places or as a contributor within a historic district listed on the National Register are eligible for the program. Federal Investment Tax Credit Program
The Federal Investment Tax Credit Program allows owners of historic commercial properties to take a 20% income tax credit on the cost of rehabilitating such buildings for industrial, commercial, or rental residential purposes. The program permits depreciation of improvements for up to 31.5 years depending on the purpose of the building. The rehabilitated building must be listed on the National Register of Historic Places or be a contributor to a historic district listed on the National Register. Rehabilitation must be certified as meeting standards established by the National Park Service. Applications may be obtained through the State Historic Preservation Office.
